Announcement regarding upcoming concrete pours, February 7, 2007
Information about the construction company's planned large concrete pours beginning February 13, 2007.
JE Dunn, the company that is constructing Texas A&M University's Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB), has announced a schedule for several upcoming large concrete pours at the construction site, adjacent to Simpson Drill Field. Concrete pours are currently scheduled for February 13, February 16, February 21, and February 27, 2007. Pours will begin before dawn and continue into the afternoon.
The area most directly affected by the pours will be the construction entrance road running through parking lot PA 30, between Wellborn Road and Jones Street. A large number of concrete trucks will be using this road, which will make passage difficult for vehicular traffic. Pedestrian and/or bicycle transit of the area will remain possible, but all persons using the road should exercise care due to these construction activities.
The company's project managers plan to set additional dates soon for the remainder of the pours needed for ILSB construction, but will complete some of these initial pours before publishing additional dates. JE Dunn expects to make large concrete pours every three to four days over the next six months. The company will be placing concrete every day, but the large pours to be done on the dates listed above will have the largest impact on traffic flow on the Texas A&M campus.
